Chrisland varsity holds matriculation for 300 students

Punch Newspapers Sections Published 13 March 2021 Three hundred students of Chrisland University, Abeokuta, Ogun State, matriculated at a virtual ceremony to kick-start the 2020/2021 academic session. The students, who were sworn in on the university campus, were admitted into three colleges – College of Basic Medical Sciences, College of Natural and Applied Sciences, and College of Arts, Social and Management Sciences. Speaking at the sixth matriculation ceremony, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Chinedum Babalola, urged the newly admitted students to abide by the rules and regulations of the institution and participate in all activities of the university. Babalola said the university had zero tolerance for cultism, hooliganism and corruption, adding that it would therefore spare no student caught on the wrong side of the law.

Nonuniform Late Pleistocene glacier fluctuations in tropical Eastern Africa

Fig. 2 Hypsography of the eight African mountains that were most extensively glaciated during the Late Pleistocene. Top row (excluding High Atlas) shows the hypsography of the three highest mountains in the Ethiopian Highlands and bottom row shows the hypsography of four East African mountains. Note that the total surface area of the Bale Mountains above 3000 m is more than twice as large as that of most of the other peaks. The varying hypsography of the mountains has implications for present and past glaciations on the continent. Under present climatic conditions, the ELA is located far above the maximum elevation of most of the African mountains. Glaciers can therefore only persist in the summit areas of the three highest peaks of the East African Mountains. However, once the ELA decreases below 4000 to 4500 m as during the last glaciation (

CHASS to sustain 11% budget cut that will result in less student support, less staff and less funding for research and graduate students

Highlander Archive /The Highlander “What matters more is … making sure UCLA is funded at 11,500 bucks a year (per student), making sure that Berkeley has its funding untouched. Instead, we’re going to cut the most racially diverse campuses, we’re going to cut Riverside, we’re going to cut the brown campus. It is absolutely and clearly a way of saying, ‘Whatever it is you’re teaching matters less than what is being taught at UC Berkeley. And the people that you’re teaching matter less than people being taught at UCLA, UC Berkeley, UC Santa Cruz,’” said UCR Department Chair of Hispanic Studies Jacques Lezra of the budget cuts the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (CHASS) can expect for the following two years.
